The Price Guide
Custom & Classic Mirror Work — What It Costs
Classic and custom work is priced per job — the standard price bands don’t apply the same way. Below is the guide for what typical classic and custom jobs land at.
If only the glass is cracked, don’t pay for a full mirror. Panel shops default to the full assembly. We assess for a glass-only fix first — often from $135. See our full cost guide for the detailed breakdown.

Why drivers choose us
Classic car side mirror restoration for the right-year, right-part rebuild
Classic car side mirror restoration is a different job to a modern repair. You're not looking for the fastest fit — you're looking for the correct-year part, the right chrome finish, sometimes a specific mounting-hole spacing. We source factory-correct or period-accurate mirrors for classics and refit them without damaging your paint.
A concours restoration needs the exact original part number. A daily-driver classic can take a period-accurate reproduction if the original is unavailable. We're upfront about which you're getting on any quote we send.
Fender-mounted or door-mounted chrome bullet mirrors show up on MGB, MGA, Datsun 240Z, HK-HG Holden, early Falcons. Sourcing is a specialty in itself; we've built the supply network for the common models.
Some owners want a mint replacement. Others want a lightly-aged part that matches the rest of the car. We can source either — tell us which one you want before the quote.
Sometimes the original mirror is repairable — re-chroming, glass swap, arm straightening. Sometimes replacement is the smart call. We assess honestly on the quote instead of defaulting to a new part.

CUSTOM & CLASSIC CAR SIDE MIRROR REPLACEMENT
The classic & custom mirror specialist — where the parts catalogue closed years ago
The regular parts catalogue closed on your car years ago. Toyota Australia stopped listing E20 Corolla mirrors in 2004. Jaguar dropped E-Type parts from their central catalogue in the ’90s. GM won’t sell you a factory HQ mirror. Every classic and custom-car owner runs into the same wall: the dealer says “no longer available”, the panel shop says “we don’t do that”. That’s our specialty. We source discontinued parts, cut mirror glass to shape from ADR-compliant blanks, adapt aftermarket assemblies to fit custom builds, and hand-fit everything with proper mounting hardware. Priced per job because no two are the same.

FAQs
Classic car side mirror restoration for the right-year, right-part rebuild — answered
Can you find mirrors for a specific rare classic?
Usually — we've built supply networks for MG, Jaguar, Datsun, VW, early Mercedes, HK-HG-HQ Holden, XW-XY Falcon and most common Australian and European classics. Very rare marques may take longer or need international sourcing.
Restoration or replacement — which is right for my car?
Depends on the condition of the current mirror and how original you want to keep the car. We assess from your photo and recommend honestly.
Do you refit at my garage or shed?
Yes — we come to where the car lives. Home garage, storage unit, workshop, show ground. Wherever it's parked.
How much for a chrome bullet mirror set?
Depends heavily on the model, source, and finish. Simple reproductions can land near the base tier; genuine original parts for rare cars can be significantly more. We quote per job.
Can you re-chrome an existing mirror?
For some models yes, using specialist re-chromers. Cost and lead time vary. We'll be honest on the quote about whether it's worth doing versus sourcing a replacement.
Do you cover concours-standard rebuilds?
Yes — concours-grade sourcing and fitting is available. Contact us with details and photos through the instant quote page.
