Short answer: book before midday with a clear photo of the mirror and most Brisbane jobs are fitted the same day, at your home, work or wherever the car is parked. The part has to be confirmed from the photo first — that's what makes same-day possible rather than a guess.

In Brisbane? We can fit it in your driveway, usually same day at your home or work, anywhere across the metro — see our full Brisbane mirror service.

("Coming to you is the whole point of a mobile service, but coming to you the same day you called only works if nothing has to be figured out on site. That's the actual mechanics behind “same day” — it isn't a promise, it's a process, and it starts with a photo, not a booking.", 'Send a clear shot of the mirror before you book anything, and in most cases we can tell you the exact part, the exact price, and whether today is realistic, all before a technician is anywhere near your car.')

The four parts, and what each one costs

A side mirror is four separate components. Which one broke is what decides the price — not the badge on the car.

Mirror glass only replaced by Car Mirror Man
Mirror glass only
from $135 fitted
The housing is fine and only the glass is cracked or missing. Heated and blind-spot glass costs more, but the job is the same 20 minutes.
Mirror cover / cap replaced by Car Mirror Man
Mirror cover / cap
$150 – $300
Scuffed or torn off in a car park. Painted to your colour code so it does not sit on the door as an obvious replacement.
Folding motor replaced by Car Mirror Man
Folding motor
$220 – $420
The mirror will not fold, or grinds when it tries. Almost always the motor and not the whole assembly — that is the part most quotes get wrong.

Sheared off at the door. Price follows the car, because blind-spot monitoring, cameras and auto-dimming are what move the part cost.

What makes same-day actually possible

1
A clear photo, first
Straight-on, in daylight if you can, showing whether it's the glass, the cover, or the whole assembly that's damaged.
2
A fixed price before booking
We identify the part from the photo and confirm the price — no guessing once the technician arrives, and no revised number once the job is already underway [1].
3
Book before midday
That's the practical cut-off for a same-day Brisbane slot in most cases — later bookings usually move to the next available day.

The reason the photo comes first is simple: if we have to diagnose the damage on arrival, the part might not be in the van, and the job slips to a second visit. A good photo removes that risk before we've left the depot.

What we can usually turn around same day

Job Same-day likelihood Notes
Mirror glass replacement High Common stock, from $135 fitted
Cover replacement High Standard colours in stock; custom colour codes may need a day
Folding motor Moderate Depends on vehicle-specific part availability
Full assembly, common models Moderate to high Popular utes and hatches are usually stocked

Every one of those parts, whatever the model, is going back on fitted to the same national standard the original one was built to — a rear-vision mirror free of damage or distortion that would reduce the view [2], which is exactly what a fast fix is trying to restore.

Where we cover, same day

Brisbane metro, both sidesNorthside, southside, inner city, all on the same schedule.
Ipswich, Logan, RedlandsFull coverage, same booking process.
Moreton Bay regionIncluded in our standard coverage area.
Home, work, or the carparkWherever the car is sitting, not just a fixed address.

Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Redland and Moreton Bay are separate council areas that sit next to each other around the city [3] — useful to know if you've ever wondered why a job in Logan and a job in the Brisbane CBD are quoted from the exact same price list rather than two different ones.

What “mobile” actually means, mechanically

There's no workshop behind this. The van itself is the workshop — stock, tools, paint-matched covers and the diagnostic knowledge all travel with the technician, which is the only reason same-day is even possible in the first place. A workshop-based repairer has to book you in, and you have to get the car there; a mobile technician removes that whole first step.

The trade-off is that the van can only carry so much stock at once, which is exactly why the photo step matters — it lets us confirm the part before the van leaves, rather than arriving and discovering the wrong glass is on board.

What's actually stocked on the van as standard

Category Typically stocked Usually needs sourcing
Flat & convex glass, common sizes Yes Rare, unusual imports
Standard black covers Yes Factory colour-matched paint codes
Folding motors, popular models Often Less common vehicles
Blind-spot/camera glass Sometimes Usually vehicle-specific, sourced

This is why the photo genuinely changes the outcome: a common flat glass on a popular model can usually be fitted same-day straight off the van, while a specific factory colour code or an electronics-heavy glass sometimes needs an extra day to land in stock.

A realistic same-day route, in practice

Same-day doesn't mean instant — it means fitted within the working day, slotted in around other confirmed bookings across the metro. Morning photo-and-quote enquiries generally land an afternoon slot the same day; afternoon enquiries are more likely to be first thing the next morning, still well inside “this week, not next.”

Before midday
Best chance of same-day
Midday–3pm
Often still same-day
After 3pm
Usually next available slot

Being upfront when same-day genuinely isn't realistic

We'd rather say “tomorrow” honestly at the photo stage than promise today and then miss it once the technician is already on the road. The two things that most commonly push a job to the next day are a factory paint code we don't carry as standard, and an unusual model where the exact electronics-integrated glass has to be sourced.

Either way, you'll know before anyone leaves the depot, not after you've taken time out of your day waiting for a technician who then has to reschedule.

What we need from you to make same-day actually happen

Same-day is mostly a logistics problem, and almost all of the friction sits in the first five minutes of the conversation rather than in the repair.

1
A photo of the mirror
Face on, close enough to see whether the glass, the cover or the whole unit has gone. This decides which part comes with us.
2
A photo of the compliance plate
In the driver's door jamb. It gives the exact build, which is what stops the wrong part being loaded.
3
Where the car will be, not where you will be
We come to the car. If it is at the office all day, that is the address we need.
4
Whether there is access
Boom gate, visitor bay, basement, permit zone. Thirty seconds on the phone saves an hour on the day.
5
A window rather than a minute
A two hour window lets us sequence the run properly. A hard 10:15 usually means a later slot, not an earlier one.

The two photos do most of the work. With them we can confirm the part, give you a fixed price and commit to a time in one call rather than three.

What happens if the part turns out to be wrong on arrival

It is worth saying plainly, because every mobile operator hits this occasionally and how they handle it is the thing worth knowing in advance.

The usual cause is a mid-year build change: two cars of the same model and year, different glass. If the pane we bring does not seat correctly, we do not force it in and hope. We take the details off the car directly, order the correct part, and come back. You are not charged twice for the visit, and the consumer guarantees that apply to the work do not change because the job took two trips [4].

What we will not do

Fit a pane that is close but not right. A mirror that is not seated properly will vibrate at speed, distort the view, and eventually come loose. It also stops the mirror doing what it legally has to do, which is give a clear view to the rear [2].

Weather, and the one thing that genuinely stops us

Mobile work is outdoor work. Most Brisbane weather is not a problem and we work through it. Two situations genuinely are.

1
Heavy rain with no cover
Adhesive on mirror glass needs a dry surface to bond. In steady rain with nowhere undercover, the right call is to reschedule rather than fit something that will fail.
2
Electrical storms
We are not standing beside a car with tools during a storm cell, and neither should anyone else.
3
A carport or garage solves both
If you have one, say so when you book. It turns a weather-dependent job into a normal one.
4
A shopping centre or office basement also works
Anywhere with a roof and room to open the door.

Summer storm season is the period this comes up most. If the forecast looks marginal on your booking day, we would rather move you a day than do a job that has to be redone.

What same-day does not mean

It is worth being straight about the limits, because the word gets used loosely and it sets people up for disappointment.

1
It does not mean within the hour
It means today. A run is sequenced across the city and you land somewhere in it.
2
It does not cover painted covers
A colour-matched cover has to be sprayed to your code. That is a next-day job at the earliest, and anyone promising it today is not painting it properly.
3
It does not cover every model
Common glass is stocked. Auto-dimming, blind-spot and camera housings are ordered.
4
It does not mean we will guess
If the right part is not on the van, the honest answer is tomorrow with the correct part rather than today with the wrong one.

What it does mean, reliably, is that a cracked or missing pane on a common model is a same-day fix across Brisbane, and that is the majority of what people ring about.

If it can't be same day

Some vehicle-specific parts — a less common model, a factory colour code we don't hold as standard stock, or blind-spot and camera-integrated glass — sometimes need an extra day to source. We'll tell you that up front, at the photo stage, rather than after you've already waited in for a technician.

The honest version of same-dayWe'd rather tell you today that it's tomorrow, than promise today and miss it. What counts as a reasonable timeframe for a repair genuinely depends on the job [4], so every quote comes with a realistic timeframe attached, not just a hopeful one.

Every band above comes from our national price guide, which is the single source of truth for what we charge. If you want the full breakdown by part and by vehicle, read our side mirror replacement cost guide.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get a same-day mirror repair in Brisbane?

Send a clear photo of the mirror as early in the day as you can, ideally before midday. We confirm the part and price from the photo, and most jobs are fitted that same day.

What time do I need to book by for same-day service?

Before midday gives the best chance. Later bookings can often still be fitted the same day depending on the day's schedule, but it's not guaranteed.

Do you need to see the car before quoting, or is a photo enough?

A clear photo is usually enough to identify the part and give a fixed price [1]. We only need to see the car in person to fit it.

Is same-day available across all of Brisbane?

Yes — northside, southside, inner city, and out to Ipswich, Logan, Redlands and the Moreton Bay region [3], all on the same booking process.

What jobs are least likely to be same-day?

Less common vehicle models, specific factory paint colours, or mirrors with integrated blind-spot or camera electronics sometimes need an extra day to source the exact part.

Do you come to my home or workplace, or do I need to go somewhere?

We come to you — home, work, or wherever the car is parked, across our Brisbane coverage area.

What if I book late in the day?

We'll tell you honestly whether today is realistic or whether it needs to move to the next day [4], based on the part and the remaining schedule.

Does same-day cost more than a standard booking?

No. The price is set by the part, not by how quickly it's fitted.
