Which glass does your car take?
Mirror glass is not one part. The curvature, the size and the electronics behind it change by make, model, year and which side of the car it sits on. Send a photo and we identify it from the mounting plate.
Australian driver-side glass is usually flat or very mildly convex. Passenger-side is more strongly convex, which is why that side carries the objects-are-closer warning.
A heated element is a film bonded to the back of the glass with two spade terminals. Fitting plain glass to a heated car kills the demist function permanently.
Later models put a warning icon inside the glass itself. The icon is part of the glass, so the correct part has to be matched exactly.
Curvature differs between sides. A right-side piece fitted on the left gives a distorted, unusable image and will not pass a roadworthy.
