Wing mirror, side mirror, door mirror — any difference?
None. They are three names for the same thing, and which one you use mostly depends on where you learned to drive. The odd one out is rear-view mirror, which can mean either the exterior mirrors or the interior one on the windscreen. We do the exterior ones.

Is a wing mirror the same as a side mirror?
Yes. Wing mirror, side mirror and door mirror all describe the mirror mounted on the outside of the door. Wing mirror is the British term, side mirror is the common Australian one, and door mirror is what most workshop manuals use.
How much is wing mirror replacement in Sydney?
Glass only starts from $135. A cover or housing is $150 to $300. A full plain wing mirror is $200 to $350 and a powered one $350 to $500. Mirrors with blind-spot, camera or auto-dim electronics are quoted per vehicle.
Can you replace just the wing mirror glass?
In most cases yes, and it is by far the lowest-cost route. If the housing, motor, indicator and wiring all still work and only the glass is cracked or missing, the glass is the only part that needs replacing.
My dealer says the wing mirror is no longer available. Can you help?
Very often, yes. Because we cut mirror glass ourselves and buy across a wide supplier network, we regularly fit vehicles the dealer parts system has no entry for, including older cars, classics and imports.
Do you replace the interior mirror as well?
No. We replace the exterior wing mirrors only. The interior mirror bonded to the windscreen is auto glazier work because the repair involves re-bonding to the glass itself.
Do you come to me?
Yes, anywhere across metro Sydney. Glass-only replacements are done entirely from outside the vehicle, so you do not need to be present.
How long does a wing mirror replacement take?
A glass-only replacement is usually 20 to 40 minutes on site. A full assembly or a job needing the door trim opened takes longer, and powered mirrors can push towards an hour because of the wiring connections.
Is the replacement guaranteed?
Yes, in writing, and the term depends on what was fitted. Mirror glass carries an unlimited warranty for as long as you own the vehicle, covering manufacturing and workmanship. A full mirror assembly carries a three-year written warranty. An individual replacement part — a motor, a cover, an indicator or a camera cap — carries a twelve-month warranty on that part and the workmanship to fit it. Impact, accident damage, misuse and negligence are excluded across all three.
